Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring

This week we said goodbye to winter and welcomed the start of spring with its longer days and blooming flowers.  Spring time brings the promise of warmer weather but also the return of humidity to the air, rain, and wind.  These changes in weather create new challenges for hair and hence we all need to change up our hair care regiments to keep our hair healthy and looking great.  We at cut want to help you understand what the changing weather is doing and help you come up with a game plan for fabulous spring hair.

The return of moisture to the air with humidity and rain gives even the best of us trouble with styling hair and creates a play ground for frizz.  Applying Oribe’s Gold Lust to wet hair can help to keep the frizz at bay without weighing it down. It is also gives you thermal protection for styling and can protect against those dreaded split ends.  Once you have dried and styled your hair add an additional barrier from frizz by spraying with Oribe’s Impermeable Anti-humidity spray.  This spray is great for straight hair as well as curls and will add shine and UV protection.

As if the humidity wasn’t enough for hair to handle, add in the wind and here comes the flyways.  This is where having a great hair wrap or scarf will come in handy.  We love this spring accessory in any condition but it is especially great for keeping your hair from looking windblown and disheveled.

Finally what we love most about spring, the warm weather, can also cause some hair problems.  Heat opens up the cuticle causing split ends, breakage, and duller color; not to mention spending more time in the sun can create an added dulling effect on hair.   To prepare for the warm days ahead it is a great time to ask for a deep conditioning treatment at your next salon visit or pick up one of Oribe’s moisture masque’s for at home deep conditioning.   We recommend Masque for Beautiful Color for an intense, cuticle-enriching, color-protecting, frizz-taming, color-enhancing, hair-repairing, glossifying masque….phew that was a mouthful.

You are now armed and ready to enjoy spring with gorgeous hair!
